Legal
Effective date: 1 April 2026. These terms govern your use of the Recipal platform operated by {{LEGAL_ENTITY_NAME}}. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.
Recipal is a compliance software platform for restaurants operating in the European Union. It helps food business operators maintain allergen records, manage ingredient libraries, compose recipes with allergen propagation, generate inspection-ready allergen matrices, and produce customer-facing allergen documentation.
The platform may use AI-assisted text extraction and classification to help process ingredient labels, invoices, and menus. All AI-generated results are presented for human review before entering the trusted ingredient library. Recipal does not make autonomous allergen classification decisions without user confirmation.
The food business operator is and remains solely responsible for the accuracy of allergen information communicated to guests, regulators, and inspectors. This obligation exists under EU Regulation 1169/2011 and applicable national food safety law regardless of whether you use Recipal or any other tool.
Recipal is a documentation and workflow tool. It does not constitute legal advice, replace supplier due diligence, or override the operator's obligation to verify ingredient and recipe data. You must review all allergen information before relying on it for guest-facing communication or regulatory compliance.
Recipal's deterministic allergen matching system is designed to support accurate classification, but it cannot guarantee completeness for all products, languages, or labelling formats. Low-confidence results are flagged for manual review.
You must provide a valid email address and create a password to register. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
Each account is associated with one restaurant workspace. The account owner (the person who registers) has full administrative access. Additional team members may be invited in future versions.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you represent that you have the authority to bind the restaurant or food business to these terms.
Recipal offers two subscription plans: Recipal Base (€19,99/month) and Recipal+ (€29,99/month). Features included in each plan are described on the pricing page and may be updated from time to time.
New accounts receive a 14-day free trial with full access to the chosen plan. No payment is required to start the trial. After the trial ends, an active subscription is required to continue using the platform.
Billing is handled by Stripe. Subscriptions are billed monthly on the anniversary of your subscription start date. All prices include applicable VAT where required.
You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe billing portal accessible in your Recipal settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial months.
We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice by email. Price changes apply to the next billing cycle after the notice period, not retroactively.
You own your data. All ingredient records, recipes, allergen classifications, audit logs, and menu content you create in Recipal belong to you.
You may export your allergen matrix as a PDF at any time. Upon request, we will provide a machine-readable export of your complete restaurant data within 30 days, in accordance with GDPR data portability rights (Art. 20).
Upon account deletion, all your restaurant data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, except for billing records retained as required by tax law (see Privacy Policy section 6).
You agree not to: reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of Recipal; use automated tools to scrape or bulk-access the service; resell access to your account; upload content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights; or use the service for any purpose other than food business allergen compliance management.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe are being used for fraudulent or abusive purposes, after providing notice where practicable.
Recipal may operate an internal business outreach automation workflow to contact restaurants about allergen compliance workflows. It uses publicly available business data only and excludes purchased consumer-style lead lists.
Outreach is limited to business-relevant communication. Every message includes an unsubscribe mechanism. If a recipient asks to be removed, we suppress that contact immediately and stop further outreach.
Customers may not use Recipal services to run deceptive, unlawful, or non-compliant outreach campaigns. You remain responsible for your own legal obligations in your target jurisdictions.
We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible. We are not liable for downtime caused by our hosting providers, network issues, or force majeure events.
Support is provided via email at [email protected]. We aim to respond within 2 business days. Priority support is available on higher-tier plans as specified on the pricing page.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Recipal's total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the service is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We are not liable for: allergen classification errors that result from incorrect input data, supplier label changes, or incomplete product databases; business losses, regulatory fines, or damages arising from reliance on Recipal without independent verification; or indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages of any kind.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
The Recipal name, logo, application code, user interface design, and documentation are the intellectual property of the operator. Your subscription grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the platform for your restaurant's allergen compliance purposes.
The allergen synonym database used for deterministic matching is derived from publicly available EU regulatory sources (EU Regulation 1169/2011, RASFF, BfR) and is not claimed as proprietary content.
These terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Recipal shall be submitted to the competent courts in Germany.
If you are a consumer within the EU, this does not affect your rights under mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
Before initiating legal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at [email protected] to attempt to resolve the issue informally.
We may update these terms to reflect changes in our service or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
